THE PAPRIKA BLUES BAND

Blues / Funk / Jazz

BIO

The Paprika Blues Band were formed in early 2015, and since then have taken Shropshire by storm, performing at many venues and festivals across the county, winning new fans and earning great reviews. Their tender years belie a deep knowledge and understanding of not only the blues, but also jazz and funk. They are already seasoned and accomplished musicians in their own right.

Think foot stomping honky-tonk piano, intertwined with intricate drumming, solid driving bass and topped off with the passionate silky vocals of Lauren Scarlett and you get the idea.

LAUREN SCARLETT

Vocals

Lauren's vocal range is perfectly suited to sing the blues with passion and feeling. Her soulful voice adds a warmth to the songs the band plays. She is responsible for writing most of the band's songs.

Moz - Guitars

MOZ

Guitar

Moz joined the band in 2016. His versatile guitar playing, together with his knowledge of the blues helps to produce that authentic  sound. Mos's playing is very much influenced by Keith Richards.

Rory Smith - Drums / Harmonica

RORY SMITH

Drums / Harmonica

Rory is an aficionado of the blues. He has been drumming since he was 9 years old and cites Charlie Watts as his main influence. He also plays blues harp on some songs.

Matt Bell - Keyboards

BILLY CLAPHAM

Bass

Bass Boy Billy joined the band in 2017. He is equally happy playing blues or funk and he and Rory form a tight rhythm section that holds the groove together.
